When someone comes on your website what appears first, homepage. The homepage is the first view of your website. As you all know there is a common saying that the first impression is the last impression. So how do you make your homepage more SEO friendly? We all know that for lots of keywords content pages tend to do well but this doesn’t mean that your content page ranks for anything. That’s not good for your website.
Hii guys I am Shubham Chaurasiya and today we are going to learn How to design SEO friendly homepage?
Look doing SEO of homepage is very similar to optimizing your other pages but if you are skipping your homepage SEO o you are doing a big mistake and yes missing a lot of opportunities too. When people come on your website they learn about your business through your homepage. As stated earlier first impressions are everything and this applies to the homepage too. Here are some tips to make your homepage looks good and SEO friendly too.
Clear about your company’s value proposition and selling points. Your homepage is a welcome mat for your website. This will tell the users about the website content. It will tell you about what your company is, what are your services and products. Look, point out your USP (Unique Selling Points). What makes your company different from others? Make sure you state your strong points. The ultimate goal is to solve the problems of your customers.
Now you have to use customer testimonials. As we know that authenticity is one of the top qualities that would attract them to a brand. We all know trustworthiness is a huge aspect of conversion. Now when you showcase your customer’s testimonials it builds trust with new visitors. Now some of you will say that we don’t have any customer review so what should we do? Instruct them to leave a review. It’s very simple as you just have to email them that what they think about your service/product. Remember one thing don’t bribe them to leave a review as when you do that you are creating a review that is biased. You want real reviews.
You have to make your homepage mobile-friendly. This is very important because Google does mobile indexing because more than 50% of searches are done on mobile devices. The number increases to even 90% in some industries. Your website design needs to be designed for both desktops as well as mobile devices. So make sure your website is mobile friendly and also loads fast. Your website should be compatible with the tablets also. Now if you want to know if your website is mobile-friendly then Google has a free tool for you.
Make your navigation as simple as you can. Navigation is the key when it comes to user experience. Your site structure should be easy to navigate not confusing. Remember when people come to your site and they don’t find what they are looking for they are going to bounce. Google is noticing and it will affect your rankings in the long run. If the user is exiting you quickly remember that the user experience is not good. It not only hearts your rankings but also hearts your sales. So you have to keep your site navigation as easy as possible. One of the biggest reasons that people bounce is because of bad site navigation which means either too many options or they are not finding what they are looking for in two or three clicks. Simply reduce the options and the chances of getting more clicks increases.
Optimize your homepage title and meta description. Most people make their homepage title tag as their brand name, it seems smart but in the eyes of SEO it’s not going to do well. I am not saying don’t include your brand name but you also want to put keywords there as well. Remember 8 out of 10 people will read your title tag or your headline but only 2 out of 10 will click through and read the rest.
Craft something that is super appealing. If you don’t know how to craft something appealing normally six-word headlines tend to do well. People love anything that tells them what they are going to get. So at your homepage show your main product or service that will solve the problem of your customer. If you need help in designing your title tag and meta description with the right keywords use ubersuggest.
Put in the keyword of your industry and head on keywords idea report and it will show you all the keywords that you may target and especially look for that one which has low SEO difficulty which is less than 40. If you want help in optimizing title tag and you want to run experiments, you can also use tools like ClickFlow which allows you to do AB test your title tag to maximize your click for your homepage.
Always try to show a recent blog post on your homepage. As discussed earlier your homepage is your welcome mat. People are coming to your website for many reasons. If you show new content on the homepage the visitors will return back to back and will keep going through the whole website. Keep your site time better and also try to reduce your bounce rate. Always try to increase user experience and it will help you in building authority and brand and eventually increase your conversion as well.
Last but not least give a call to action. Look when someone comes to your website allows them to move here and there. Your ultimate goal is when someone comes to your site they end up buying a product or service. Make sure your call to action is easily available and clickable.
Now if you follow these tips what you will find is people are reading, seeing the testimonials, learning more and you may convince them to buy and they can do so without scrolling.
